Sabine and Alexander Prenzel were the hosts this year and therefore had organized the fall meeting for the annual meeting accordingly.
On Friday afternoon, members and guests from all over Germany arrived at the meeting room of the Burghof Rethem, beautifully located on the Aller River. In a very pleasant atmosphere in historical walls with integrated new building, the 16-member general meeting met from about 2:30-6:15 pm.
Because the board had to be newly elected after 2 years, the election of the board members was on the agenda, in addition to the topics discharge of the board, reduction of fees, Leipzig Fair. Olaf Elias (1st board) and Alexandra Sauer-Bug (2nd board) stood for re-election, Sebastian Juhnke (3rd board) wanted to give up his office.
Alexander Jerx is the new 3rd board member and thus Juhnke's successor. In the future he will be the main contact person when it comes to organizing events and fairs.
The new board of directors, which will manage the business of the association for the next 2 years.
At about 18.00 o'clock the meeting was finished. Until the joint delicious dinner in the castle courtyard (catering "The fire chefs Quérico" with their clay oven), some members and guests used the time until 7:00 pm for a walk along the Aller or through Rethem or for conversations on the castle courtyard terrace.
This association meeting was also attended by some guests such as Tom (son & successor of Martin Häberle), life partner of Alexander Jerx as well as partner of Mathias Jürgensen, Lilie and Victor Elias (daughter and son of Olaf Elias, also potential successors). Young entrepreneur Hendrik Prenzel also joined them later. And, of course, Martin Häberle's dog "Orsa" was also part of the party.

Saturday: 09.10.21
At 09.30 most of the members set off in carpools to Celle. Here they were welcomed by Dietrich Klages of the Kulturkreis Fachwerk Celler Land e.V., who guided them in an approx. 1.5 hour tour through the old town of the half-timbered city of Celle and imparted a lot of interesting information about the architecture of the city. He was supported by two architects, who reported on the great challenges of renovation under strict monument regulations at two listed buildings and demonstrated with practical examples how and what historical substance could be uncovered or how attempts were made to renovate carefully, especially with regard to new regulations. Three interior and courtyard tours were also part of the tour.
At about 2:30 p.m., everyone then made their way to the tour of the new company location "Historische Baustoffe Prenzel" in Rethem. Here we were welcomed by delicious cake & coffee in glorious autumn weather. After an individual tour of the premises, the traditional HB auction began at 4:30 pm this year with auctioneer Alexander Prenzel. We also welcomed two potential new members.

After a large number of historical objects finally changed owners and again everyone had a lot of fun (over)bidding, we all headed to the Hotel Allerhof around 6:30 pm to have dinner together. Honorary member H.C. Freudenberger was also there with his wife.

Sunday: 10.10.21
At 9:00 a.m. we met in the conference room at the Allerhof Hotel to hear various news from the plants and to revisit the topic of the Leipzig Trade Fair. At about 12 o'clock the conference weekend was finished.
After such a long Corona break, it was nice to see all of us again and celebrate our club life in nice company. The personal exchange was important. We discussed relevant topics of the association and the newly elected board will continue to lead the UHB together with you.
