For this year's spring meeting the members of the Unternehmerverband Historische Baustoffe e.V. met at the weekend from 8 to 10 May at the company Antike Kachelöfen Theo Holtebrinck in Bad Heilbrunn. In addition to the usual conference programme, the programme included a tour of the company by member Theo Holtebrinck, a visit to the Bavarian traditional costume information centre in Benediktbeuren and a guided tour of the Glentleiten open-air museum. The highlight of the meeting was the 2nd public UHB auction of historical building materials on the premises of the company Antike Kachelöfen Theo Holtebrinck.
On Friday afternoon, the general meeting began with a visit to the exhibition rooms of Theo Holtebrinck in Mürnsee, a district of Bad Heilbrunn. On the grounds of a former school building Theo Holtebrinck presents his antique tiled stoves, which he lovingly restores and thus offers them the opportunity to heat further old and new houses.
Afterwards the members of the Unternehmerverband Historische Baustoffe e.V. met in fine weather on the premises of the company Antike Kachelöfen Theo Holtebrinck. Beside the general agenda, Winfried and Alexandra Ulm reported on their "Ickelhäuser" with bath Windsheim and presented their new web page www.urlaub-im-ickelhaus.de . In the evening they went to the Bavarian traditional costume information centre in Benediktbeuren. There the leader Alexander Wandinger held a lecture about traditional costumes and Hans Neumayr supplied the members with food and drink.
On Saturday morning we went to the open-air museum Glentleiten. There the museum guide Manfred Bauer accompanied the members to the inspection of the historical tuff saw and the whetstone factory. After lunch at the Landgasthof Schönmühl we returned to the premises of the company Antike Kachelöfen Theo Holtebrinck, where the 2nd public UHB auction began at 2 pm. The members of the UHB had brought nearly 100 historical objects with them, most of which found new owners. After the auction the Rieder Alphornbläser played and Theo Holtebrink gave a lecture on the use of antique tiled stoves in the past and in the future.
On Sunday morning Theo Holtebrinck met again in the rooms of the company Antike Kachelöfen. Thomas Borghoff gave a lecture on the website of the association. The focus was on the use of the website and current technological developments.
