The members of UHB e.V. met south of Bremen for their annual summer meeting in perfect summer weather - this time in Bruchhausen-Vilsen at Bose Antike Baustoffe.
A visit to the Valentin Bunker memorial site in Bremen on Friday was an impressive and at the same time oppressive start to the weekend. The examination of the history of this place left a lasting impression. The day was rounded off with a joint dinner in the stylish ambience of Forsthaus Heiligenberg, where the participants spent the night.
Saturday morning was dedicated to the general meeting. Among other things, a new board was elected. Alexandra Sauer-Bug and Sabine Prenzel were confirmed in office and will lead the association as dual leaders in future. A big thank you goes to outgoing board member Olaf Elias for his many years of commitment.
A highlight in terms of content followed with the presentation by Matthias Frese from KIT Karlsruhe, the research university in the Helmholtz Association, on cooperation between science and practice. The focus was on the reuse of load-bearing timber components through selective deconstruction - a topic of growing importance in the field of historic building materials.
In the afternoon, the participants explored the old town of Verden on a guided tour with a cathedral, brewery tasting and fascinating insights into the town's history. The program then included a visit to a Bose customer project: the successful garden design around the Pades restaurant.
The grand finale was the evening at the home of host Nico Bose: after a tour of the depot, the traditional auction took place - as always with a lot of charm and a twinkle in the eye.
Conclusion: An all-round successful meeting with inspiring exchanges, new impulses and the best community spirit. A big thank you to everyone involved and especially to the organizers on site!
