On the evening of March 30th we received the sad news that our colleague Theo Holtebrinck had died on the same day.
This news was as surprising as it was shocking for us, as we had called Theo Holtebrinck the day before and even the night before. We discussed with him details of his planned participation in the fair and other short-term marketing measures - and as always, when dealing with Theo Holtebrinck, the conversations also dealt a little bit with God and the world, the burning fire, life, but not dying.
With Theo Holtebrinck, the industry loses one of its most prominent representatives, the UHB, someone who not only remained loyal to him as a member for over two decades, but also as a participant in the meetings and as a two-time host brought in a great deal of commitment and attention to detail. Even with his mind fed by an unbridled curiosity, he was always an enrichment for our association. He will be missing.
